A Season of Reaping

Everyone with small children (or who has ever had small children) knows that it is a tired season of life when you have very short people who live in your home. The past 7 years at our house have been full of interrupted sleep, messes, stickiness, sickness, etc. All of those things added together at times have helped me understand the section of scripture claiming that there is a time to sow and a time to reap/ Surely the first five years of a chld's life ar a time to sow (really we alaways sowing into them, but it is especially intense when they are wee little ones!). This week God began showing me that the season of reaping is not always as far off in the distance as we feel it might be.

Elizabeth and Hannah conquering the hill! Go cousins, go!

This week I reaped a very fun sleeding outing with the kids. Two hours of pure fun in the snow with no whinning, crying, quitting, or screaming. We finally played outside for a longer period of time than it took all five of us to get ready!!! Thanks be to God for the blessing of reaping!!

Enjoy your season of reaping-you have earned it. Thank you for sowing 24/7 into Abigail, Elizabeth, James, and Silas-you are being a good steward of their lives. Love-Mom

Thanks for the encouraging look into the "reaping" ....we are hard core sowing at the moment and I relate to the tired person you described at the beginning! :-)You are such a great Mommy - thank you Lord for giving my friend the great gift of a whine free fun filled afternoon in the snow!!
