Earthquake....in Virginia??????

The 5.9 earthquake that rattled through our home today was an unexpected surprise. (Particularly since the last one in VA of this magnitude was over a hundred years ago!) It was a great way to introduce the kids to the idea of an earthquake. Nothing like REAL life informing your educational choices for the day. Needless to say we did not have to do a different science lesson for today.

When I walked around to survey the damage done to the house, I discovered several areas of impact. After careful investigation, though, it was clear that these areas were merely a consequence of aftershocks names Abigail, Elizabeth, James and Silas!!

Praise God for his reminder that He is in control, and that in his providence, he keeps us safe.

Bracing for Hurricane Irene!

Glad to hear that you had no damage from the earthquake and that Bailey is back to normal. Who knew that we would experience an earthquake in VA??? Batten down the hatches as Irene continues her path right up the 95 corridor. Love-Mom
