Though we already had a Nemo Pool Party (in our backyard with no pool because the weather was bad on the day of the party) and though Gram already took James out for a birthday outing, today is the real, no-kidding, actual birthday for our big guy.
Daddy and I were just reflecting, James, on what a neat young man you are growing to be. Everyone that meets you enjoys your smile, your sweetness, and your fun-loving personality. You seem to find friends wherever you go, which is a blessing to watch.
Our prayer for you has always been Luke 2:52 which says that Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man. We have delighted in seeing you get taller, more mature, and more of an excellent follower of Christ.
You eagerly complete your school work (with minimal complaints...mostly) and you enjoy learning new things. We love playing games with you, listening to you read to your little brother, watching you achieve greatness in what you do, and really, we just love being your parents because we love you.

If the nurses who worked in the NICU when you were born saw you now, they would never have called you a whimpy white boy!!!
