Abigail had the opportunity to take up a second instrument this year and has chosen to play the flute. She took on the challenge of watching a golden for a week in exchange for a flute from a friend. She was delighted to have a flute in hand as she set off for her first band rehearsal. Her weekly homeschool band is directed by three wonderful gentlemen who used to teach in the public school system for many years, but in their retirement have chosen to teach homeschoolers. Right now the beginner band is only 5 students strong, but they are a mighty force. After a bit of a rough start due to instrument error, she is up and running very well with her flute now.
In December, all three levels of band offer a holiday concert. Abigail played two songs along with her beginner level band. It was really neat to see how much they have learned in just two months and also great to see the other levels of band that are yet to come. We are very proud of you Abigail! Thanks for filling our home with music and dance!
