This year, being James's first year of Cub Scouts, a camping birthday seemed appropriate. Since we are fairly green at this outdoor endeavor, we decided to stick close to home-really close to home- and camp in the backyard. Pitching our new 10-man Tent Cabin for the first time was a great deal of fun and provided plenty of space for James and his cousins and friends to sleep in. Uncles Joe, Todd, and Dean also joined to fun with their tents as did Papa and Nana.
James enjoyed a Cook-Out, Camp-Out birthday with friends and family at Camp Yoho. Thanks to all of the uncles for sticking around long enough to camp out over night. Singing around the fire, roasting marshmallows, and having hot cocoa in the morning with his friends and cousins made for a perfect birthday for our 6 year old!

James, you continue to impress us with your academic abilities, fun personality, and all around good-natured self. You are a delight to our family Every day Daddy and I see you growing more in "wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man." (Luke 2:52) You are the best big brother Silas could eve ask for. He look up to you in so many ways. And you are a sweet, playful and fun little brother to both Abigail and Elizabeth.
