Well, after a long three weeks, we are reunited once again! Right on schedule we got out daddy home....well, the schedule changed about 4 times so there was never really a count down to his return, but in God's time we retrieved him on Saturday evening.
The kids were thrilled to see him. Abigail sat and showed him EVERY piece of school work she has done in the past three weeks. Elizabeth performed her "Shawn Johnson" balance beam routine. James ran circles around the house shouting "My daddy back" (seriously, he ran faster than I have ever seen him run! It might have been the exictement of seeing Daddy again, or it might have been the candy necklace Auntie Tammy let him eat while I was at the airport!!) During all of this activity Silas looked on skeptically, but by Sunday morning he was accepting Ryan as the Alpha Male of the house!
God is good to have given Ryan an amazing trip with good work productivity, and a family in one piece at home. Yes, Abigail learned her math facts. Elizabeth is reading short books. James is potty trained, and Silas can sit up. Mommy did her best to be patient and kind at all times and is thankful that Jesus forgives us of all of our sins. All of those things are irrelevant (though they did help us pass the time!) when compared to the great feeling of having your best friend back home with you.
Thanks for your prayers, dinners, care packages for the kids. We feel so loved!
